Since this was a true double elimination tournament, Ashea would have to beat Stacy in two sets of a race to seven. Ashea got off to a quick 3-0 lead in the first set. The games then went back and forth until Ashea ended up winning that first set 7-4. The second set started and this time it was Stacy who took control early with a 3-0 lead. Ashea won the next game, then Stacy won the next which made the score 4-1. Ashea gathered herself and won the next three games which tied the match up 4-4! Stacy won the next 3 games and with the set was won! Congratulations to Ashea for an awesome 2nd place which was her highest finish in an AWBT event! And a huge congratulations to Stacy for an awesome victory and winning the qualifier! We’ll be routing for you in the San Diego WPBA Classic Event!
